Bedroom renovation costs:
Furniture - We didn't really have to buy much. The two antique dressers, treasure chest and Tiffany lamp are Karla's family heirlooms from the olden days. The bed was given to us by Frank, who wasn't using it anymore. The small shelf was made by Karla's grandpa and the CD cubicles were bought at Goodwill for $10 and repainted by us.
Dragonfly lamp: $7 (neighbor's garage sale)
Rainbow Swirl rug: $60 (from Ebay, price includes shipping)
Floors - The carpet removal and tack pulling labor was generously donated by Ron Kane, Charlie and Tracy. We had to buy a few tools and it cost $10 to recycle the old carpet so I'd put the total floor restoration cost at $50.
Paint - One can of "Revive" from Eco-Design Resources: $40
Accessories - The bedding was all from previous sources. The dragonfly comforter was a wedding gift from Nonna, the bird quilt was made by my grandma and the LeValley quilting club (also as a wedding present) and the curtains are from Karla's old canopy bed. The decorations are all things we had in the old apartment.
Total bedroom cost: ~ $150
Guestroom and bathroom renovation costs:Furniture - Again, there's not much new furniture. The wardrobe came with the house, we painted it red. The rolltop desk is another Karla family heirloom. The couch was given to us by Frank. The computer desk was given to me by someone at my work, we painted it turquoise and silver.
Floors - same deal as the bedroom. I had to install a threshold near the glass door: $17 at OSH.
Paint - One can of "Neti" and one can of "Sky" from Eco-Design Resources: $50
Accessories - The red curtains were $15 each at Cost Plus, the hardware was $30 at Target. We removed the shower door ourselves with help from Ron Kane. The Mexican shower curtain is from Ebay and came over from the apartment along with all of the other bathroom furnishings.
Total Guestroom and Bathroom costs: ~$150
